For this two week project, we had to design a game that would invoke a particular emotion within the player: Nostalgia. This was also an opportunity for us to try working with an engine we have not used before, LÖVE.

We struggled through many iterations of the game but we were finally able to settle on a 2D puzzle platformer. Our design took inspiration from retro platformers of the 90s, but also from

minigame compilations, such as WarioWare, Rhythm Heaven, and Bishi Bashi.

My main role on this project was teaching Lua to my team and setting up the object classes to be used in the game. I worked on the base player class to control movement, and drawing the player. I also implemented the interactable objects in the scene so that we can easily add new objects and events using a simple table structure. My final task was combining all pieces of the game together (i.e. Nick's dialogue cutscenes and Eunice's minigames).
